Ginevra Molly Weasley is the youngest child, and only daughter (with 6 brothers) of Molly and Arthur Weasley.
She was the first Weasley daughter born in seven generations.
Ginny appears in the first book but only becomes a main character in the second book, when Tom Riddle (Voldemort)'s diary possess her, causing her to attack students and then go into the chamber herself. Harry saves her and kills the basilisk, the monster in the chamber and destroys the diary. In the next two books, Ginny is not in them as much until the fifth book, in which Ginny is a member of the D.A. (Dumbledore's Army) and goes to the Ministry with Harry and the others.
Harry begins to like her throughout the sixth book and they end up going out towards the end of the term. In her sixth year she (along with Neville and Luna) rebel against Snape (the new headmaster) until she has to go into hiding with the rest of her family. She takes part in the battle of Hogwarts (against her parents wishes) at the end of the seventh book.
Afterwards Ginny marries Harry, and she becomes a chaser for The Holyhead Harpies. She retires after the birth of her's and Harry's first child James Sirius.
She then becomes Senior Quidditch Editor for the Daily Prophet.
She and Harry have three children: James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter, and Lily Luna Potter.
Harry thought that the reason she didn't cry much was because "having six brothers must have toughened her up." Although she is shy in the first few books she gets more confident later on due to counsel from Hermione. Although she has boyfriends before dating Harry on she says she "never really gave up on Harry." Ginny's mom, Molly, likes Harry. After the first few books, Ginny becomes very beautiful, with a strong personality. When she and Harry first met, Ginny was very shy and bashful in front of him. But as time went on, Harry fell for her. They dated after a kiss at a party after a victory Quidditch match. Ginny was an excellent Quidditch player, from practicing with her brothers.
